There are my second pair of Woobies. My first were the MOD 1. Those shoes were my daily shoes for almost 2 years. There is nothing wrong with them and still going strong. The tread is still there, none of the seams have shown any signs splitting and they are as comfortable today as the day I first put them on. In short, I love them! The best shoes that I have ever owned! I bought the MOD 2 because I have an ankle that likes to roll for no good reason. Plus I like the look of the high top. The MOD 2 had a little more breaking time and seems to be a hair more narrow than the MOD 1. But they are still very comfortable. I have been wearing the MOD 2 daily for the past 3 - 4 months with no issues. I get frequent comments about them and cant wait to get another pair.
Kenneth T.
Better than Chucks.
Scott D.
The MOD-2s I received have a harder sole than the MOD-1s that I own. They will leave marks on the tile floors in my home and office. They are also noisy(click) when walking in tiled floors. Sometimes I had to make sure I’m not wearing my dress shoes they are so noisy
That is the only con I have. Other than that these are great shoes. I currently have 4 pair total
Scott T.
Great fit, extremely comfortable.
Alex S.
Best purchase ever
Kevin J.
The non slip on these bad Larry’s, is incredible! 10 outta 10, I’m getting more.
Jarmo D.
Best flat bottom shoes I’ve ever owned!
Blake
The absolute best shoe for work by far! With it having a clean profile (no logos or separate colors) along with a large polishable toe it was able to fit into uniform Police at my agency. In the 2 plus years on patrol (foot pursuits, hurricanes, wet, muddy etc.) this shoe only gets better with time.
The only negative I would say is I wish it would come in a more “foot shaped” toe box similar to a barefoot shoe but I also have yet to try the wide version of Mod-1.
Finally, with the Mod-2 (high top) the shoe laces could be longer because in cold weather (wearing wool/thick socks) especially it can get a little hard to tie your shoe because the laces are not long enough.
Aaron M.
These are high quality shoes. You can feel the high quality when you wear them. Takes a week to work them in and once you break them in its glorious. I wear them for work, they feel like boots but have that converse chucks feel. Athletic boots if you will I'd describe them. This is my second purchase of these shoes, the 1st pair lasted 6 months. That's 6 months of mon- Fri 12hr shifts. When my 2nd pair wears out ill get a 3rd pair for sure.
Darren (Deacon) C.
I have two pair of mod 2’s, with which, one or the other are worn every day.
They’re durable in the gym, fashionable while out and about, comfortable at church and functional at the range.
Truly my favorite pair of shoes!
Darren C.
Evan O.
Would have like to try a 8.5 in wide to have no slide (front to back), but lowest wide size option was a 9. Still fits well and are comfortable.
Rolando S.
Customer service is incredible!
Tyler D.
I love my mod 1s and I was excited when the mod 2s came out and bought them right away. I didn't have an issue with them being made in Spain until I got them in hand.
I'd be much happier spending ~$160 on a shoe with the durability of the older US made woobies.
My mod 1s, as you can see are well worn, sun and sweat bleached. I've been hike, training, fishing etc in my mod 1s for 3 years. Love them, most durable shoes I've ever had.
On the other hand, I've had the mod 2s for a month and the durability of the new manufacturer is coming into question. The rubber sole is softer and the toe cap is less resistant to abrasion. You can see the level of wear on the heel from my right foot with the mod 1s after 3 years vs the mod 2s after a month.
I hope you guys can eventually come back to the US, mainly for the overall quality of the build. Spain is great but not for your guys shoes.
Gerard G.
Little tight on sides and the soles mark up the floors in my house ., otherwise it reminds me of my old jungle boots from the Army
Nick S.
I haven't put them through much because when I got them they are so clean and nice looking but I will buy another pair soon and these will be turned in to work shoes and enjoy the feel the weight of them are perfect and I will say if you have a wide foot get the wide they are cut like Chuck Taylors but worth snagging a pair
Jason H.
Very comfortable. Great alternative to a heavy boot.
Patrick P.
The insole and padding inside is very comfortable. The laces are thick and stand up to a solid tug to tighten up the shoe tongue. They look tough and feel great!
david m.
This is simple, I like them more than the roll out low tops, and they 100% replace my chucks and vans.
Why to step your game up
Daniel T.
Solid shoe. I like them a lot. Shipping times and updates were disappointing. If you’re willing to wait I’d definitely recommend them.
Christopher H.
Great shoes! Very comfortable and stylish.
Matt M.
Extremely comfortable and extremely beautiful. Tears of joy run down my face every time I put them on.
chad f.
I will say they are comfortable...
I'm on my third pair since Oct22 sorry to say these shoes don't hold up . either that or I have shit luck. the sole of all three pairs, even the replacement pair they sent separated from the shoe like a flip flop. I'm past the 30 day warranty so I'm out the 160 or so per pair.
for the price point I thought they would last a bit longer than a month or two.
Samuel D.
The only negative aspect is the fact that something along the back (top of heel cup? leather seam?) wore blisters along my achilles tendons. Not sure if there's a way to soften up that friction point...? Haven't had that experience from a shoe before.
Anyways, that's the second pair of Woobies and I'm sure I'll buy more.
Brandon G.
Great quality shoes! Absolutely love them. But the shipping took over two months and they had to refund one of the items because they were out of stock. No warnings about delays on the website and customer service was very slow to respond
Alicia M.
They were a Christmas gift for my son! He loves them!
Bill H.
They’re ok. Not really what I was expecting. Probably my fault for not reading more into them. They’re very similar to a converse all star.
Karl S.
Great quality! Night and day difference compared to converse or vans. The laces are quick and easy to tighten or loosen when taking off. They run a little narrow on my feet, (size 13.5).
They would probably work well under scuba fins.
Isaac N.
Hit the mud with them. Drain holes worked good.
Lucas L.
So I have feet issues. Pain every day when I wake up. I got these shoes, went to work for 12hrs and the next day......no pain when I woke up. I thought it was a fluke but now, the days after I work I don't have foot pain anymore. They have just gotten better, these "Tactical Taylors". Needless to say, I will be getting a pair for use away from work
Luke P.
Love these shoes!! Although after bowling one night the loops on the heels broke off when trying to put the shoes back on. Shoe is still great and very functional for any outing but I was disappointed the stitching wasn’t better on the loops. I cauterized the threading to prevent any loose seams from pulling out. I don’t need a replacement they are still functional shoes. Just no more loops
Scott B.
Very nice . Enjoy wearing. Very cool and comfortable
Michael P.
I ordered the mod-2s and was disappointed with the quality. I bought a pair of mod-1s right before Woobies moved manufacturing to Spain. Mod-2s I’m assuming are from Spain because the quality has dropped off slightly. I still love the shoes but loved being able to purchase a shoe made in the USA. I know it’s hard to do now, I haven’t found another American made shoe. Still holding out hope you guys will find someone to make them in the US again. Cheers.
Cody D.
The fit is true to size, and they are comfortable.
John C.
Awesome quality, comfort, and durability. Great company and service to boot.
Erin R.
Bought these for my husband. He says they’re awesome! The fit is great and comfortable. He likes the traction, ankle support, and the all black look. His feet are long and narrow, so thick socks added a little bit of help to fill things in. That’s his only complaint. They’re great for ever day wear! Good for lots of walking. This is the second pair of Woobies we’ve gotten for him, we’ll definitely continue to buy!!
Christopher S.
Love my MOD2 easy and fast ordering. The MOD2 that I ordered is just as well made as the MOD1 I ordered earlier this year.
Eric D.
The shoes are true to fit and after about one month of use they are holding up great! Thanks for making such an awesome product!
Jason J.
I wear these shoes on duty every shift! Will buy again!
Becca C.
Shoes were comfortable. My husband is Swat and he hears them to work. All the guys give home compliments!
Spencer M.
Love the shoe. Will never buy another high top other than Woobies Mod 2 ever again. Great construction. Looks killer. Perfect fit. The only gripe is the insole. I understand for Maritime OTB, a gel/rubber insole will help expel the water as opposed to a fabric/leather/foam one. However, thin socks will allow the feet to shift/slide a millimeter or two. No problem still love the shoe and will gladly purchase the entire collection. May get an aftermarket insole pair for it later down the road if the shoe breaks in and creates more room.
For constructive feedback if I may; Woobies, would you offer a standard insole or an insole that is more grippy to the socks to purchase separately on your website?
Donald W.
They comfortable and easy to move in . I can also train boxing in them and jiu-jitsu.
Andrew P.
Construction, Material, Price are all excellent! Like the detail on inside of the sole. Very nice touch.
Comfort is my only individual area I personally did not like. The width of the toe box I wish was slightly wider. I don’t have feet either. The fit Id say is on the narrow side. I still wear the hell out of them because it’s a very minor issue. Great shooter platform overall.
Pam S.
My purchases have been gifts for my adult children. They both love the shoes and the values of the company. My son is a police officer and wears the Mod-2 while on patrol.
Ramon A.
Honestly, I was very skeptical about the actual quality of these shoes before purchasing them, but oh man was I wrong. On my feet 14 plus hours a day in law enforcement and my feet do not even notice it! 10/10 would recommend and did to my other co-workers who all have said the same thing I have
RLTW
Kelly M K.
These fit perfectly and are very comfortable. The high-tops add an extra feeling of security around my ankles. I want them in every color!
John R.
I bought them for my son. He wears them all time
Nick A.
I’ve had a few takkie style shoes before but this takes the cake! I’ve worn them sailing, traveling and working and I love these, they have no slip I love them
Raymond C.
Sole is coming off the shoe. The shoe is very comfortable and practical. I'm all for supporting USA Made products. If I'm spending 150 on a pair of shoes I don't want to start coming off after a month of wearing them to the office.
Hunter D.
Love these shoes! Very comfortable and durable. 10/10
Terry R.
New Shoewear FREAKING AWESOME AND COMFORTABLE.
robert f.
I love the first pair so much I ordered a second. That’s as good as a recommendation as I can give. Look forward to purchasing a lot more in the future. God bless America.
Christian G.
I was skeptical at first because I figured how could this shoe possibly compete as a tactical shoe, and so far it has achieved or exceeded my expectations! Very comfortable, lightweight, and it looks great in uniform. I did get the “it looks like converse sneakers” talk until they saw how they performed and felt.
Sean T.
They are awesome. I found a bitchin replacement for my old vans. Good work on these shoes
Tom G.
These Mod-2 US 9-2E’s are identical to my Mod-1 US 9.5’s. Same narrow toe box, but they’ll break in eventually. As others have said, Woobies shoes run narrow, which is something to keep in mind when sizing. I suspect this is why there are so many complaints about the stitching failing around the toe box. I’m a size 9 with generic globohomo-brand sneakers. With Woobies, I’d be comfortable going up a full size. Advice: The insoles are cushy, but also very thick. Replacing them frees up a lot of space in the shoe.
Despite these complaints, I still like these shoes and will wear the hell out of them.
Jamie C.
While I like the shoes, by my 3rd time wearing them around, the rubber started coming loose from one of the shoes. For this much money, I would have hoped for better durability.
Daniel Y.
Bought a pair for myself and my wife and both like them
Kurt N.
Size is spot on. They are very comfortable. I can't wait to get them "dirty"!
Jake M.
Amazing shoes. Easily the most comfortable apparatus I've ever put on my feet. The little finger loop pull tab thing popped right off though. Not worried about it really, it just was surprising.
Thomas R.
So, they're Boss. I can wear them to the range or the steak-house. But after years in development, you still have the width wrong. The standard D is Vietcong narrow! After two pairs, trying to get the size right, I just gave up. I returned them. Make the D a true D and the wide a true wide, and you'd have me forever. I'm just exhausted trying to guess your sizing...
Curtis H.
I dig em! I think I like the Mod-2 better than the Mod-1. I was skeptical because they are much more lightweight than the Mod-1’s, so I was worried about their durability… but they are holding up well to daily wear, and dang are they comfortable! I’ll definitely get more in different colors.
Andrew B.
Best shoes I have ever had. More color options please!!
Michael R.
Best pair of shoes I've owned in some time.
Jason A.
Using these shoes as my night-out shoes for now. Super comfy and seems like they can really take a beating. So far so good!
Kacey M.
These shoes have far exceeded my expectations in comfort and wearability. I'm on my feet 12-15 hours a day and these are easier on my feet than other high priced footwear I use. Light and comfortable. What else is there?! Definitely buying other models!
Thanks, WOOBIES!
Bill T.
First time buyer of these shoes. My brother told me about them and I absolutely love them. They molded to my feet, immediately
Kade w.
Great good looking shoe for gym and whatever else
Jonathan S.
The Mod II are great shoes. Their light, flexible, and work well in my gym or my downtown technology office. I’ve used them for a WOD and a workday.
The canvas is a bit thinner than the Mod I and the toe cap is more comfortable.
Chip R.
I bought the original mod 1's.
Best shoes I ever bought.
The mod 2's are clearly not made with the same quality. The soles are already almost worn flat after less then 2 months. The mod 1s lasted me 2 years! And are still kicking not sure what happened but no longer a quality product. I can provide pictures and testimony because this was such a let down, I honestly would love to talk to someone at the company about it.
Francisco M.
Sturdy shoe that looks good but I wasnt a fan of the insoles
Josh W.
Fits spot on like my Mod 1’s and look killer. Definitely my new favorite shoe.
Chad L.
I like these shoes. My only complaint is the quality control seems to be lacking as the stitching was frayed at several points and I had to spend some time burning lose ends to make sure everything stayed tight. For what the shoe costs, the final QC should pay more attention to detail.
Alex A.
I bought my second pair. It is unbelievable how Woobies was able to make a basic shoe look cool and more importantly comfortable. I love what this company stands for and I highly recommend buying a pair, I know I will be.
Salina S.
Fast shipping and awesome quality shoe. Ordered them for my husband , which is currently deployed as a surprise
Jared R.
Great pair of kicks!!! I had originally preordered the mod 2s and there were some delays. Although my order had to ultimately be cancelled, Woobies honored their commitment and sent me a pair on the house!!! I will definitely be ordering in other colors and have sent to my friends and fam.
Kelly D.
Good look.. good function.. just need some better arch support and a softer sole
Isaac F.
American made perfection! My favorite shoes!
Joshua P.
I had made contact with woobies before this review. I’ve had issues where the stitching is coming apart on both sides of the of each shoe as well as the tongue. I received a quick response that they would be providing new pair of shoes. I’m still waiting on this and hopefully this was just a wild quality control issue but I’ve only had them a few weeks and for 150 bucks I can go back to a pair of vans for half the price. Outside of that they are very comfortable and feel great. I use these as my work shoes (swat team) so standing in these on barricades is no issues or wearing them for 12 hours during training. Also doing morning PT is fine and satisfying. So if the second pair doesn’t have this same issue I’ll continue to buy more pairs and would suggest them to others. However if it continues I wouldn’t suggest it based on the price when you can get a great pair of van high tops with a comfort sole for 100 bucks. I’ll be happy to update this review whenever I get a second pair.
Scott E.
The shoes still give the feel and comfort that I’m used to with the mod-1’s. However, I’m slightly disappointed in the quality of this pair. I’ve been wearing these for about a month and the stitching is already starting to fall out.
taylor a.
Fit great and hold up well to the elements
Wade S.
Awesome shoes, will go through anything you put them in. Durable and tough!
Michael G.
Great customer service, great shoe!
Joshua C.
I love the construction of this shoe.
My hi-tops were purchased for working in the service industry but as a multi-use shoe for outdoors and motorcycling.
I wish this particular model was made in the USA. I hope Woobies finds that manufacturer again.
Still if it wasn’t to gamble purchase another pair at almost $200, then I would certainly buy again when they do have that manufacturer.
That being said, I am a male of 5’8” resting at 165 lbs. I recommend that unless you know you have narrow feet, GO WITH THE WIDES. I wear an 8.5 in nearly every shoe type. These are true to size except my toes are crunched like I’m wearing fashionable heels.
I’m hoping they stretch out as I wear, but do to the high quality construction, I doubt they will. Go up a half size or get the wides. Perhaps suggested to grab a half size up esp if you want to wear thick socks or wear inserts.
Caleb T.
I finally have a pair for my hands! Just in time for winter. I love this company(exclamation point) They make THE BEST shoes EVER(exclamation point x2) like all things they must be worn out and undergo severe beatings before they feel good…only 2 days for these ones. Jk they were gravy from the jump. The height on the shoe is glorious. The feel of the woobie supporting and gripping my ankles just turns me on…I feel so secure and like I could do anything…really…anything(exclamation point x3) the sole of the shoe is hands down by far the most amazing part of the shoe. I cook food for a living…so really I just lean on metal things a lot…BUT when I do stand and move around…OH BABY!! The soles just make every step worth taking…I just wanna keep taking steps. It’s almost an addiction…before I didn’t step…but meow with my stepping shoes I step. Standing is so much easier on my feet with these shoes…it’s like they stand for me. For real though. Wonderful company! Wonderful product! You will NOT find a better shoe… God bless America and God bless this company and all the people that make this shoe possible. I will continue to buy woobies as long as they are produced! Keep up the amazing work!
Michael B.
Woobies could be named a wonder of the world. From the classic to the comfort of the mod1 and now the full foot hug of the mod2 is mind blowing. Only the gods of the universe could have dreamt these designs on an ancient trestle board. The Mod2's are just the next level of perfection. The ankle height is not suffocating like a turtle neck but supportive like a good boxer brief. Thinking of the activities I could do in these shoes makes me crave the ceilings I can bust through.
G H.
The first pair I got are super comfortable and good for my feet. These high tops look amazing but right away hurt my feet and instant back pain. Feels like I’m stomping pavement. And toes tight. I see now there’s wide option but what do I do with these? I sent them out to get stretched but they said not good. First pair Bad Ass! Second pair Not so Much.
John J.
I wrote the team about stiching being undone with the rubber part of the sole..I love the shoe and as a vet I'll keep buying
Cameron L.
Got them and immediately put about 25 miles on them at Disney, they were more comfortable than my running shoes. Just goes to show, they’re cool at the range, in the woods and doing normal things too
Mike S.
These kicks are rad!
Matt D.
Awesome so far. The kind of shoe I'll buy three or four pairs of easily
Tim P.
They look great. Feel great. And perform great.
Zachary B.
The best shoes I've ever worn - Comfortable, bad-ass looking, versatile, rugged. Are just a few of the words I use to describe these kicks. I've also never received more compliments about a pair of shoes in my life.
Aaron C.
Already love my multiple pairs of Mod-1’s but really loving the Mod-2’s. Great shoes, highly recommended.
Aaron W.
Follow up to my previous review, I didn't realize these were already offered in a wide. Will be snagging a pair soon!
Aaron W.
The MOD-2s are killer. Very well made, you can tell they're solid. They looking great, however I had to give them to my cousin due to my feet being too wide lol so I'll definitely be buying another pair as soon as they're made in a 2E. All is good, awesome shoes awesome company.
John F.
I love the shoes, but I’ve been trying to reach y’all for about three weeks now. They fit well but within the first week the inside of the sole is unthreading and detaching from the shoe itself. I am an officer and love Woobies when I’m off duty, so when the Mod 2 came out and it fit our policy for a duty shoe, I was excited. I do love the shoes and would really love it if they weren’t coming apart. Please help me if y’all can. Thank you.
Richard M.
This is the best sneaker for modern times.
I was a chuck Taylor fan boy for a long time, until I got tired of paying $70 bucks for shoes that would last 3 months. It's also owned by Nike, so you basically are funding communism and is probably made by some poor uyhgur in a slave factory who is working under threat of having his testacles harvested.
I tried the Altama but like strapping a piece of plastic to your foot. The soles suck and the siping on the lugs falls off whithin 2 weeks, which then leaves you with basically a smooth bottom sole. They also are hard as shit, so you sound like a two-bit hooker when you walk down tile floors. The Altama's drain ports are also stupid for anybody that doesnt use them for diving (which is like 99% of the people that buy them). They will soak your feet in a wallmart parking lot after a light rain, or god forbid you have to use a truckstop bathroom with a broken urinal (ask me how I know). Bam, wet feet the whole day because you can't clear 1/16 of an inch of standing water without becoming one with your environment.
These shoes take the best parts of chuck taylors and the altamas, without any of the dumb features or communism... or cringy kaepernick endorsements. It's just a good sneaker. The canvas breathes, the soles are soft and grippy yet durable, the stitching is durable and better than glue, and the insoles don't suck balls. I still replace them because I got a hard on for SuperFeet insoles, but at least they are usable unlike the trash Altama insoles, and removable unlike Chuck T's.
I use them for hunting, going to home depot, work, range day. Why not buy hiking shoes? Because I think it looks glowy to walk around with my family wearing salomans and don't like buying tons of shoes.
Ya, it's pricey. So far the money is worth it as far as durability. And considering 2 pairs of Chuck T's ($140) will fall apart in 6 months, it's pretty on par as far as dollars to miles.
Buy these shoes. Support this company so I don't have to search for another shoe company.
Joah H.
I love these Mod 2’s! They remind me of Chuck Taylor’s but they are built way better. I would recommend them to anybody.
Sharif M.
They are the only flat bottom shoes I van wear. Others kill my foot after a ver short while because I am an amputee. Definitely a high quality shoe!
Adam E.
These shoes are absolutely amazing! Work, play, gym…it’s an amazing shoe! You’ll love them!
