Alongside his wife, Shane founded Scorpion 6 Knives, a business dedicated to crafting 100% U.S. handmade custom knives and tools. The Interview
Question 1 - Where were you born?
Shane -Â Colorado Springs, Colorado, directly across the interstate from the US Air Force Academy.
Question 2 - What school(s) did you attend?
Shane -Â I attended Liberty & Pine Creek for my high school education. After the military I attended Universal Technical Institute to gain my Associates in Automotive Technology, then Ashford (now ASU) to get my Bachelor's in Business Management.
Question 3 - What did you do after graduating?
Shane -Â Left directly for Fort Benning to attend basic training, Infantry, Airborne, RIP (RASP). Served 6.5 years in total and deployed from Egypt to Afghanistan.
Question 4 - What was your first job?
Shane -Â My first job was while I was in high school as a Laboratory Technician for a Soil Testing & Engineering Firm.
Question 5 - What do you do for a living?
Shane -Â I own and operate Scorpion 6 Knives with my wife, making 100% U.S. handmade custom knives and tools for collectors and users alike.
Question 6 - What inspired you to pursue your job?
Shane -Â The biggest inspiration I had was my happiness, and the effect that my happiness had on my family. I knew I was not happy with my other (20) career journeys after I exited the military, and I knew I had a passion for knives and working with my hands. The transition from corporate life into an apprentice bladesmith was a very natural one for me, and knife making is a path that I do not see myself coming away from.

Question 8 - What are some of your achievements?
Shane -Â The biggest achievements that I hold sincerely close to my heart is the marriage to my wife and being a father to my wonderful daughter. In a professional sense, I am very proud to have owned/operated a successful business for over 8 years now.
Question 9 - What are your goals and aspirations?
Shane -Â My personal goals are to be a successful and supportive husband and a be a leading example to my daughter. My professional goal is to become larger in all aspects so we can become a stronger force to do better in our communities. My passion is the fight against child abuse/trafficking, so I would love to be able to support that cause more financially.
Question 10 - Is there anything else you would like to say to our veteran community and customers?
Shane -Â Do. The. Work. There are so many people out there looking for the magic recipe to be successful and happy in their lives. The number one thing to create this is to do the work and move forward through action.
