Kyle has been working with K9s since 2006. During his time in the USMC he was able to deploy multiple times as a K9 handler. Once, in Iraq and twice in Afghanistan.
Kyle is Married to his beautiful Wife Jessica. They have two amazing young boys, Greyson (2.5 years old) and Parker (7 months old). They currently reside in South Carolina.
The Interview
Question 1 - Where were you born?
Kyle Smith - Schenectady, New York
Question 2 - What school(s) did you attend?
Kyle Smith - I first graduated from Columbia high School and then attended Purdue University Global to get my Bachelors in Criminal Justice/ Homeland Security.
Question 3 - What did you do after graduating?
Kyle Smith - I attempted College for about 4 months and decided it wasn’t for me. I joined the United States Marine Corps instead and have not looked back since.
Question 4 - What was your first job?
Kyle Smith - I was a Master of the Custodial Arts. I worked for a small cleaning company in my hometown.
Question 5 - What do you do for a living?
Kyle Smith - I am a Senior Canine training Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security.
Question 6 - What inspired you to pursue your job?
Kyle Smith - I was blessed during my Marine Corps career. I have been working with dogs since 2006. My time overseas helped me develop my skill set and use that knowledge to help law enforcement K9 teams.

Question 8 - What are your goals and aspirations?
Kyle Smith - At the moment, I have a career goal of becoming a Senior Executive Service (SES) within the federal government before retiring.
