Last weekend 11/6 - 11/7 to kick off Veterans Week, the Woobies team made it their mission to help remember those who sacrificed everything for our country. So on Saturday 11/6, while the Woobies team was in Philadelphia, the founder Anthony Aguiniga, who’s also an ex-firefighter and veteran, wanted to do something special for the Philadelphia Fire Department. In 2012, Philadelphia lost two great firefighters due to a warehouse fire on York Street and Kensington Avenue. Anthony and the Woobies Team presented an axe to Engine 7 / Ladder 10 in honor of the fallen heroes, the department, and the citizens of Philadelphia. With the help of Station 34s in Dallas, they also made a beautiful plaque for PFD in memory of the fallen.

This is something Anthony has wanted to do since discovering the incident while working for Dallas Fire Rescue. “It was a huge pleasure to honor these courageous Firefighters that paid the ultimate sacrifice, they will never be forgotten” says Anthony. It was truly a special moment and well received.

Then the next day, the Woobies team traveled down to Baltimore, Maryland in an effort to provide hunger relief to homeless veterans on NFL Sunday. They hosted a Canned Food Drive Ruck March. The march was 4.5 miles around the M&T Bank Stadium which ended at a Ravens Tailgate outside the stadium entrances. The march consisted of competitions, ticket giveaways, and even a chance to meet former Ravens players like Jarret Johnson and Edgar Jones. It was like a big family celebrating all the sacrifice our nation’s best have endured. One veteran at the march even said: "It's important that we continue fighting for our country overseas while fighting against hunger here at home.” After the tailgate, Woobies gave away up to thirty tickets to the Ravens / Vikings game to the veterans who participated. All food was donated to “Baltimore Station.” From the Woobies Team: “It was an honor to celebrate Veterans with those who came out and supported, thank you for providing support and relief for the veterans in need. We truly appreciate it.”
